Long term maintenance written instructions!Updated 5 months ago

Read the written guide below on utilizing CLR to perform a decalcification of your Coldture Chiller!

The Coldture team recommends performing a deep clean of your system every four months. Follow the steps below to use a de-scaler that will help improve your system’s performance.

Supplies Needed:

  1. CLR multipurpose cleaner

  2. Water

  3. A bucket

Step 1: Prepare the Cleaning Solution
Mix 3 parts CLR to 1 part water in the bucket. While this doesn’t need to be exact, aim for a mixture that contains three times more CLR than water.

Step 2: Prepare the Chiller

  • Turn off your chiller.

  • Close the valves on the tub to prevent water from flowing through the hoses during disconnection.

Step 3: Disconnect Hoses
Carefully remove the hoses from the tub and place them in the bucket containing your CLR mixture.

Step 4: Set Chiller Temperature
Adjust the temperature of the chiller to 20-25 degrees Celsius (approximately 77 degrees Fahrenheit). Allow the chiller to run the mixture through for 3-4 hours to effectively remove any mineral deposits that may have accumulated.

Step 5: Rinse the Chiller
Once the chiller has completed the cleaning cycle, turn it off and disconnect the hoses from the bucket. Dispose of the CLR mixture down the nearest sink or drain and rinse out the bucket.

Step 6: Final Rinse
Refill the bucket with clean water and submerge the hoses back into the bucket. Run the chiller for one hour using the clean water to flush out any remaining solution.

Step 7: Reconnect Hoses
After the cleaning process, reconnect the hoses to the tub valves. Ensure the valves are opened before turning your chiller back on.

Enjoy the improved performance of your freshly cleaned chiller!
